Ahead of their sold-out UK tour, Bleachers have released their critically acclaimed new record ‘Bleachers’. The self-titled album leaves audiences expecting nothing but the greatness of the Bleachers sound, and this album lives up to that expectation.

'Modern Girl’ was the first single Bleachers released before the album’s release and what a banger it is. The fun and funky rhythm of the song makes you want to get up and boogie the night away. Antonoff speaks about the modern girl (and boy) which gives people something to relate to.

The rich and boundless harmonies in ‘Jesus Is Dead’, aided by the sensational production, entice listeners to continue listening; unable to disengage with Antonoff’s voice. Each song maintains the sad yet joyful feel that Bleachers do so well, while also being completely distinguishable from one another. ’Alma Mater’ features Lana Del Rey, an artist Antonoff has worked on music with previously, and this is one of my personal favourites and one I think both Lana and Bleachers fans will become quickly accustomed to.

'Hey Joe’ is the shortest song on the record but it was 1:54 minutes of me appreciating the lyrics and melody. Antonoff almost speaks his way through the song with another voice accompanying him. The attention to detail with the volume and huskiness in the voices is something that tickles my brain just the right way.

Bleachers are set to embark on their tour later this month, stopping a PRYZM in Kingston for two shows - a notorious sweet spot for artists to engage with their audience. Following that, you can also catch them at Reading and Leeds Festival in August this year if you weren't able to get tickets to their headline shows. The album is available now for you all to enjoy, happy listening :)
